You don’t need to sit with your legs crossed on the floor.
Lie down with pillows under your head and legs. Make sure you are very comfortable and preferably in a quiet place; but if not, shut out the noises around you by closing your eyes and listening to your breath.
Take three deep slow cleansing breaths, then breathe normally. As you breathe in through
the nose think the word so, as you breath out through the mouth think the word hum, until it feels natural, sooooooo…hummmm. After a while you won’t even notice the words, it will give you more focus on your breath.
You will hear your little voice, the one in your head, telling you all sorts of things. Be kind
to your voice and say, “I will talk to you later”‘ then find a space of quiet between the moments of chatter, listen to your breath, go into the quiet even deeper.
With your body relaxed you can visualize white light coming into you from above.
Sometimes I visualize it coming into me through my hands, other times through the
minds eye. Allow the white light to fill every part of your body, feel the glow filling you up
healing every cell.
You can continue being in this state without the words in your head, listening to the quiet
and visualizing the light, or visualize a positive outcome to your illness. Whether its
being home with family, playing with friends or running on the beach with your dog, it
doesn’t matter, make it fun.
Keep practicing, if you don’t get it right away it’s ok. Above all, be kind to yourself and try
it again. Lovingly tell the little voice that you will be back to talk later. Play with the
technique, see what works best for you. There are no rules…only guidelines to get you
into a peaceful relaxed state of mind and send the stress away.
