LR – Our family went into crisis mode a few days ago when Grandpa fell and ended up in the hospital. We think…the fall was caused by a fever spike that triggered a whole host of other serious, potentially life threatening complications.
When events of this magnitude occur, I automatically turn to prayer. Having spent this last summer working with Lisa Boulton on Toby Bear and the Healing Light, I am more keenly aware than ever about the power of focused, healing thoughts.
At one point in the evolution of the manuscript, we had a few serious discussions about what healing thoughts Toby should share with Ani, the sick little girl in our story. The thought that spurred the discussions was this, “…Know that everything is going to be all right.” Lisa (B) felt that we couldn’t honestly put that in the book, because that was not something we could promise. My opinion was that ’all right’ could mean many different things to different people and that, perhaps, even an end to suffering could be… ’all right.’
One of the things that I have noticed about my own prayers is that most of the time I have a clear idea about what I am hoping for. In Grandpa’s case what I am hoping for is not clear. It is too soon to tell if the complications he suffered will drastically affect the quality of his life…
So I am praying simply for God’s Grace and imagining white light surrounding him. Within my body, I notice that when I am actively engaged in this prayer, the knot of worry that I carry around in my stomach loosens up for a while and I have a sense that everything is going to be ‘all right.’
